They spent 28 years as youth camp directors in the Northwest, teaching kids everything from roping and riding to making right decisions about life.
Their journey coming to Ritzville includes: three years at Rawhide Ranch, a Christian youth camp and vocational college in Bonsall, Calif.; Circle C Ranch, a Christian youth camp and retreat center in Leavenworth, Wash.; Miracle Ranch, a Christian youth camp and conference center in Port Orchard, Wash.; and then to Ritzville in 2007.
Together they have a combined total of 33 years serving folks and creating experiences. The Historic Ritzville Days Western Art Show has been a perfect place to get involved in downtown Ritzville.
The booth they are hosting serves Cowboy Coffee, Sarsaparilla, Bundt Cake and Ice Cold Water. Activities at their booth include calf roping, steer roping and trick roping, along with just plain ol’ good conversation.
Clifton Peterson will be the roping coach, demonstrating his technique and style. His ranch roping experience has taught him “it’s a little tougher than it looks sometimes.” He has a few tricks up his sleeve that he has been practicing for years on the ranch. He was at the 2009 Historic Ritzville Days Western Art Show and carries his ropes every opportunity he gets.
