Art auction to feature 60 originals,

benefit Ritzville art show

The second annual Cowboy Christmas Art Auction promises a night of live entertainment, superb cuisine and approximately 60 pieces of artwork from acclaimed artists on Saturday, Dec. 5, at the C.J. Newland American Legion Memorial Hall in Ritzville.

About 20 limited edition, framed prints and other artwork will be sold in the silent auction. The remaining 40 pieces, mostly originals, will be sold during the live auction.

Tickets are $14 per person and are available at a variety of locations including: The Hair Center, Cow Creek Mercantile, Ritzville Drug Company, Sunny Spot Floral and Gift and The Ritzville Adams County Journal as well as at the door.

The benefit event will generate funds for the Ritzville Downtown Development Association. Those funds will be used to cover the expenses for the 2010 Historic Ritzville Days Western Art Show planned for Memorial Day weekend.

Artists who participated in the 2009 art show have donated the art to the RDDA, which hosts the annual art show.

The event begins at 5 p.m. with a social gathering and art preview until 6:30 p.m. when the live auction begins.
